THE HOG'S HEAD located a block or so off High Street, the hog's head inn has been a fixture of hogsmeade for hundreds of years. a worn-out wooden sign hangs over the door, advertising with a "wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it". it's known for its cheapness, at least relative to the three broomsticks down the street, and attracts a "shall we say... interesting clientele.

HOGSMEADE STATION a "tiny, dark platform" where the hogwarts express ends its journey north from platform nine-and-three-quarters. the station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to hogwarts castle. the station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the hogwarts grounds. |

HONEYDUKES SWEETSHOP a sweetshop, owned by ambrosius alume and his wife, which is filled with "shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable". In addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge (PA8) and chocolate (PA12). For obvious reasons, the shop is quite a popular destination for Hogwarts students when visiting hogsmeade on the weekends. |

THE SHRIEKING SHACK falsely rumored to be "the most haunted building in britain," the shrieking shack is a favorite stop on any hogsmeade visit (PA8). however, the wails that were once heard emanating from this creepy building were not in fact ghosts, but rather remus lupin transformed into a werewolf. the shack, in fact, was built when he came to hogwarts, allowing him to transform a safe distance away from the other students
